Pop up Booth- Holiday Inn Yorkdale! July 29th

Hi Everyone,

Happy Saturday! 🙂

I know, its been a minute. Life has been crazy I have to say. Between wrapping up the show and finishing up my first year of grad school its been a whirlwind. And its not over yet….is it?? Will it ever be… Hmmmm.. Okay.. I do have a bit of a breather. So I am basking in that for now. 🙂

Anywho, I just wanted to stop by to share with my Toronto followers that this upcoming weekend I will be in The MRKT. This is basically a vending opportunity where you can come out and shop summer treats from Amshinaapparel! I have some goodies in store for you. Pieces from the show will be available for sale at my booth as well custom orders can be made in person. Fall scarves are also discounted. There is something for everyone. 🙂

The MRKT-holiday Inn-2

I look forward to seeing you if you are in the area. The market gets on the way from 11am and wraps up at 5pm.

Don’t feel shy to stop by and say hello if you are in the area. 🙂

Until next time. The sewing chronicle continues. I Promise to share a slide show this week with you of the eleven (11) looks from the showcase last month. Pictures are in.:)

Stop by again.

Bless

Much love

Handmade in a Hurry: My Creative Power break!!

Happy March!

It really takes time to make that perfected custom piece. At least for me it does as I am a bit of a perfectionist. I am still learning so very much in my sewing journey it’s unbelievable  how many things I have attempted in the past two years from when I started almost 7 years ago. Every project is a learning experience. I kid you not.

And as you all can see from my shared projects I do take some risks here and there. 🙂 I guess my vision continues to supersede my natural abilities which in the end brings me to the finished product! 🙂

So back to my subject and the message in this quick post. While I do take my time to make a special order it seems my wardrobe is evolving fast in between projects. hahah…What do I mean by that?  I have discovered over the last bit  with the right thread in the machine and some fabric handy I am willing to take that 15 -25 minutes to make a quick skirt or dress just for myself. Oh yeah! handmade in a hurry. I amaze me. 🙂 I do serge and all too. It’s not sloppy work at all, in my opinion there is just a rush of adrenaline on these 20 mins project that I have to stop and wonder at times why others take more time. But then I realize it’s the perfection streak in me that causes me to slow down and take my time on the special pieces as I want my very best to be put forth. Also that 15-20 mins project break is in fact a power nap in the grant scheme of things. Only problem is I am not closing my eyes but I am shifting from one project to the next to keep the momentum going and coming back refreshed. I can truly say it does refreshes me. See my two latest Creative Power Break  outcomes below! 🙂

It is my goal this year to incorporate more of my own pieces in my wardrobe so at least I have started right. I should give my self credit for the quick pieces now,  I doubt my first blazer will take me 20 mins.hahahaha

For my sewing enthusiasts that sew for others occasionally or on a regular basis I would love to know if you spend as much time on your own pieces versus a custom piece? Also Do you take Creative Power Breaks?

I am curious to know. 🙂

Hope you enjoyed this quick snippet!

Just keep sewing, just keep sewing.. what do I do I sew sew….

Until next time

The deal was real and the scrap became my Sunday Flow!

Don’t waste material even when you are just trying it out. ( That’s what I say)

Recycling is key for me as a sewer. So here is an up-cycle I enjoyed two Sunday’s ago on my way to church. I am at present working on two pencil skirts for a friend. I decided I would make a pattern based on her measurements and the style. Once I completed that I would do a mock up before the real deal.

Let’s just say the deal was real and the scrap became my Sunday flow! hahaha

Rocking that pocket for sure.

* I added this unfinished looking flower to give it a pop. I loved it.

Hope you all enjoyed.
