OH MY: This T shirt….

The right fabric can make or break the project… ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Taking time out to highlight my T shirt draft for my Husband. ย He loves a good T shirt. Especially when it doesn’t look like everybody else’s. We worked on this one together :), he provided ideas of how he wanted it and then I got to work..lol

While theย print fabric was a perfect knit, the black t shirt material was not the best.. It caused gaping in the neck at the back ( Look closely). This made sewing it up difficult. I had to rip it out :(…which made it worst…ahhh the sewing turmoil..

I was able to fix it but was not pleased overall. The fabric was too droopy for my liking…..So we agreed it will be a draft and not the real deal as it was the first try. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Some tweaks to be made to the final draft but it looks great.. Fit is perfect.. Still working on the how to do a better neck for the shirts. I should have a few real ones done before summer is out.

For now this one will be a great house shirt ๐Ÿ™‚ Especially since we have a long weekend in Canada!!

Have you tried T shirts before? Would love to get any tips on the neckline.

Thanks forย stopping by! Have a happy and safe Canada day to all my Canadians!

Until next time. Just keep sewing, just keep sewing, what do I do I sew sew sew sew….

Dress Rehearsals: The style test!

It was that serious……

Yes…. dress rehearsals. Trying on my outfits prior to an event. It didn’t matter how small the event was I made sure I did a run through to test for a few things.

  • Fit- Too tight, too big? Bulky, bunching, too long , too short Etc.
  • Function-do I have pockets? Would dancing be a problem? Can I sit?What if I fall?…hmmmmm… would I be embarrassingly exposed?Can I reach up? Can I bend?
  • Style- Did the look make sense for the event? Would it be typical? Do I stand out? Would I run into someone else wearing the same thing?

I know the list sounds a bit extreme. But guys… it worked for me.. And it became so routine that soon after going through those steps was natural as walking and didn’t seem laborious in any way. It became my style process.

Now when I look back I can say.. I was developing that eye of what works for me.

It served its purpose and I am happy to say that I no longer do that so much in detail. But with a quick glance and more so knowing what’s in my closet I put my outfits together easily. ๐Ÿ™‚ You can say the process now takes place in my mind before I even get to the closet!

What’s your get ready process in selecting something to wear? Do you have a mini dress rehearsal? I would love to hear.

Thanks for tuning in to part 2 of my mini Monday style series in May! See you next week!

Just keep sewing, just keep sewing, what do I do I sew sew.
